ABOUT LYMPHOMA
What is it?
Lymphoma is a cancer of the lymphatic system, affecting lymphocytes. It includes Hodgkin lymphoma (with Reed-Sternberg cells) and non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Some symptoms can include; swollen nodes, fever, night sweats, weight loss, and fatigue.
What are the causes?
The causes of lymphoma are unclear as of today, but the risks include weak immunity, infections (Such as Epstein-Barr & HIV), and family history.
Is it curable?
Hodgkin lymphoma has a high cure rate, especially if caught early. Non-Hodgkin lymphoma's outlook varies by type. Research is improving treatments and survival rates for lymphoma patients. Over 88% of patients with lymphoma survive.
ABOUT LUKE
Luke is a popular person amongst the community of Centre Wellington, Ontario. He mostly enjoys building with Lego, playing basketball, playing video games, and walking dogs in his free time. Unfortunately while traveling along his path to pursue his dreams, he was hit with a roadblock and diagnosed with Stage 1 Hodgkin's Lymphoma on June 2nd, 2024. Which has taken a toll on him and his family due to the amount of trips to the hospital.
